Common types of damage found on photographs are water stains, mildew spots, rips, creases, fading, and discolouring. There can also be the
defects which occurred when the photograph was first taken e.g. over exposure, under exposure, light leakage. Many of these problems can be corrected or at least improved with modern graphic software.
In the above photograph there are examples of
light leakage, underexposure, mildew spots, and creases. The central image shows the result of correcting these. An alternative presentation was produced by colouring the image.
